Known as the 'cup of friendship', a quaich was commonly used in Scottish weddings and christenings to symbolise the coming together of families. The Northumberland quaich is a contemporary spin on the traditional Scottish drinking cup, each one expertly hand turned from locally sourced wood to make a unique and special gift, from weddings and anniversaries to christenings and birthdays, or even just as a pleasing item for your home.

  • Sustainably sourced wood from Northumberland.
  • Elm burr base with elm handles.
  • Width: 14cm wide, 20cm length (including handles)
  • Bowl diameter: 10cm
  • Height: 5.5cm
  • Sealed with a high-quality lacquer finish.

The Northumberland quaich is the perfect item for those looking for a high-quality gift to mark special events such as weddings and anniversaries that is a bit different from the regular gifts. Sitting perfectly in your cupped hands, there is no denying the beauty of these wooden quaichs with their warm rich colours and beautiful grain, giving an individual look to each one. These little bowls will also make a lovely addition to your home, being just the right size to hold your jewellery or maybe the pretty shells you collected from the beach.
